Cara and Josh - a San Antonio Wedding

I've been looking forward to Cara and Josh's wedding celebration for a long time...a long long time it seems.  When Josh notified Cara's parents that he was planning to propose, they called me first to make sure I was open on the dates that they were considering.

As far as I can recall, I've never had a couple book their wedding date based upon my availability - I can tell you this, it inspires us to work twice as hard to produce a documentary beyond their wildest imagination.

Then again, when you work with couples as great as Cara and Josh, the story is evident.  It writes itself.  Most of the work has already been done in advance.

It all began at Paloma Blanca Mexican Cuisine where family and friends regaled one another with stories of their friendship, and it ended at a relative's house with those same companions begging for one last song to dance do by party band extraordinnaire Blind Date.

We couldn't have worked with a nicer and more talented photographer - David Sixt.  Shooting alongside David was a first for us (but hopefully not a last), and you can see evidence of his magnificent talent already through images from Cara and Josh's event on his blog.

Cara and Josh - thanks for making us a part of you plan.  We plan to take you back time and time again with the documentary that is to come.

"It Was Always Eric"

There is not better city in the United States to have a destination wedding than New Orleans.  The food, the music, the charm - it's an experience like no other.

Cheryl and Eric gave their guests a magnificent experience, from the rehearsal dinner at K-Paul's to the 2nd line parade led by the Treme Brass Band to an enthusiastic reception an Antoine's. 

With the toasts from both Friday and Saturday night, family and friends surrounded the enthusiastic couple with a warmth that permeated the entire French Quarter.

Cheryl and Eric, thanks for allowing us to document your event.  "Things will be great" for you guys!

Maui Retrospective, Anna Kate and Charles

I've been friends with the Edgertons for a long time, now.  I first met them 5.5 years ago when Mandi first contacted me about filming her wedding on their property, the Wild Onion Ranch. 

It was to my greatest delight when Anna Kate became engaged early in 2009 and invited me to document her wedding as well.

So with a little arm-twisting (both ways), I relented and agreed to go to Maui on 10.10.10 to do a little filming with a small band of their family and friends. :->

This past weekend, Anna Kate and Charles held their Texas reception at the Wild Onion, and we presented the film clip above to tell their guests a little bit about their history, to bring their guests into the ceremonial experience, and to introduce the couple, heretofore yet unseen, to their eagerly awaiting guests.

After Anna Kate and Charles made their official intro, the night went as one would expect when Sarah Edgerton is the creative force behind putting together an - an exquisite menu from 2Dine4 Catering, colorful visuals from Westbank Flowers and Swoop Events, and a party to rival anything else that was happening in the Live Music Capital of the World that night.

Not to mention a unique exit...but you'll have to wait a few months to see.

Anna Kate, Charles, and family, thanks for spoiling us for many years.  We trust that we will spoil you for years to come!

Holly and Russell, Intro

Holly is a special person.  I usually don't meet my couples until the wedding day, but Holly treated me as if I were long lost family.  I bet she makes everyone feel that way. :-> 

It's not hard to find where she gets it.  Her family and friends were warmer than the Texas day, and they surrounded the couple with toasts and cheers to make an old fella who sees weddings on a regular basis perk up and smile.

Love was in the air.

Janie and Buddy, Introduction

Kourtney and I headed on down to San Antonio recently to document Janie and Buddy's wedding, and as usual, we were blown away by the hospitality and friendliness of our clients.

Although rain moved most of the reception indoors, it didn't dampen anyone's spirits.  Buddy had to be the largest groomscake in the history of the world - it was a farm that would make the most ardent Farmville enthusiast swoon!  Buddy's a real farmer, though - not one in a virtual sense.

Take a look at the clip above and marvel at the grandeur of the ceremony location, the Chapel of the Incarnate Word.  If you have been to a more beautiful site, I'd call your lie.

Janie, Buddy, and Aiden, thanks for letting us into your lives for a day.  We trust that what we give you back will last a lifetime.

Kelly and Clayton, Intro

It's not very often that I get to shoot a wedding in Texas where the couple attended my alma mater, Ole Miss.  Heck, it's never!  So I felt a special connection with the couple, and knew that at some point in the night, a Hotty Toddy would break out.

A big party broke out, too, in the Griesser's backyard.  Bringing the reception back to the home property, Todd Events did an exquisite job of creating an elegant venue, decorated with their signature floral style.  Deno and the crew from The Emerald City Band gave the guests just enough time to enjoy their surroundings before getting them out of their seats, moving and grooving.

There's lots to show you, and we're almost done with their entire documentary, so stay tuned for more.  Kelly and Clayton, thanks for bringing us in - we look forward to you checkin' it out.

Kylie and Clay, Intro

Kourtney, Adam, and I jetted on down to the Texas coast last month to document the wedding of Kylie and Clay.

Kylie is Waco born and bred, and like so many of the Waco family weddings in the past, Kylie's guests did not disappoint when it came to rockin' out at the reception.  The party could've easily gone all night long.

But most importantly, there's just something else about my Waco family weddings, this esprit de corps, this camaraderie that seems to bind everyone together.  As one rehearsal dinner toaster said, "as a couple, you surround yourself with the best of people."  Everything always just feels right.

Kylie and Clay, thanks for having us, and we know this 'first minute' will get you sufficiently excited to see what else is awaiting you at the end of next week!
